Outreach

Granny loves to serve our most vulnerable. Granny performs her stories at One Day with God, a day camp of Forgiven Ministries at Rayburn Correctional Center and Hunt Correctional Center where children get to spend the day with their incarcerated fathers. She also attends St. Tammany Parish Jail Christmas Program sponsored by First Baptist of Covington as well as Hope for Christmas at Rayburn Correctional Center sponsored by Church of the King.

Lacombe Nursing Home Since 2006 , Granny Gertie provides Christmas presents to residents at Lacombe Nursing Home. Sadly, sometimes it is the only Christmas gift these residents receive. At Easter time, Granny provides Easter baskets for the residents.

Christmas Stockings Project, Granny Gertie partners with local churches, organizations and individuals to provide Christmas stockings to children of St. Tammany Project Christmas, James Storehouse, United Methodist Children’s Home, and Church of the King's Hope for Christmas at Rayburn Correctional Center. Over 600 of St. Tammany's most vulnerable children will receive stockings this year.
