About Granny

Jill McGuire, the creator of Granny Gertie, received a BFA in Theatre from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She received post-graduate training at Gregory Abels Training Ensemble, a Classical Actor Training Conservatory in New York City. Jill taught Talented Theatre at Tchefuncte Middle School. She now serves as an Evaluator for the St. Tammany Parish Talented Theater Program. After Hurricane Katrina a lot of the theaters closed temporarily. Creating Granny Gertie provided a theatrical outlet.

Past performances include: Slidell Head Start, Robert Head Start, St. Helena Parish Head Start, Bogalusa Head Start, Folsom Head Start, Woodlake Elementary School, Christ Episcopal School, Cedarwood School, St. Peters School, Mary Queen of Peace School, Belle Chase Naval Air Station Library, and Read For the Record.
